It’s your birthday!!

Let’s celebrate in the only way I know you want to: Hot saunas and cold water.

Like really, really, horribly freezing cold water.

And there’s really only one place to do that:

Tromsø, Norway.

THURSDAY
OCT 28

Right after work we head to LHR T2 for a night at the Hilton Garden Inn.

FRIDAY
OCT 29

7:05 AM
Hop on board SAS SK802 to Tromsø

(with a 90 minute layover in Oslo)

When we land,

we pick up our rental car and head to…

MALANGAN RESORT

We’ll spend 2 nights in a private waterside cabin. We’ll eat, we’ll sauna, we’ll dip in the sea, all at the edge of the Arctic circle.

SUNDAY
OCT 31

It’s an early day. We need to be in town by 8:45 AM, dressed warm, so we can go:

LOBSTERING

We get dropped
off back in Tromsø
at 1:PM.

Then we have the afternoon to explore.

But we can’t spend too much time in town because our 6:PM dinner is about a 45 minute drive away

And this is the kind of dinner you can only get in Norway.

Fresh-caught
King Crabs…
caught by YOU.

We’ll drive to Aera Glass Cabins outside of Tromsø for a meal experience unlike anything we’ve ever done.

After a 300 meters walk to a traditional boathouse, you will pull live king crabs out of a saltwater aquarium. Get them cooked in front of you while you listen to stories of the king crabs' prevalence as a natural resource and how they made their journey from Kamchatka to Kirkenes.

The freshly cooked king crab legs are then served to you in the on the table alongside bread, butter, lemons, and mayonnaise. No extra ingredients are needed because the freshness of the king crabs ensures the salty yet sweet flavor of the meat resides. Coffee, tea and water are included in the dinner and drinks can be bought separately.

Then it’s back in the car and back into Tromsø to check into our final stay:

St. ELISABETH
resort & spa

2 days and 2 nights of relaxation
and rejuvenation at Tromsø’s most luxurious spa hotel.
