As long as we’ve been together, whenever I ask you if there’s anything you want to see, you’ve only ever had one answer:
“I want to see the
Northern Lights”.
Ok then.

So we’re going to Reykjavik.
Thursday October 10
We leave Heathrow airport at 9:25 PM on Icelandic Air flight 37ZFN9 to Keflavik airport.
In economy class. EWWWWWWW.
But it’s a night flight. And we’re in seats 5E and 5F.
Those seats face North,. So you might get your first glimpse of the Northern Lights from the sky. Have your camera ready :)
Northern Light Inn
Our hotel is a super quaint inn about 30 minutes from the airport and about 40 minutes from Reykjavik City Centre.
Which means it’s far away from the light pollution of the city. Which makes spotting the lights much more likely.
We’ll pick up our car and drive straight there…hopefully seeing some Northern Lights Along the way.

Friday October 11
is wide open.
We can drive the Golden Circle. We can see geysers and waterfalls. We can hike an active volcano. We can stay in Reykjavik for dinner. What we do on Friday is entirely up to you.
I know you love to plan. So plan :)
But make sure you get some rest because the next day we’re going to…

THE BLUE LAGOON
We’ll spend your birthday bathing in mineral-rich volcano water.
The Blue Lagoon is maybe Icaland’s most famous geothermal spa. It’s located in the middle of a lava field a 20 minute walk from our hotel. We’ll spend the day being pampered with mud masks and maybe a water massage. And drinks. Oh there will be drinks.
Then, at sunset, we’ll go inside and enjoy a gourmet dinner at the Lagoon’s 5-star restaurant:
LAVA
Sunday October 13
Our flight back doesn’t leave until 4:10 PM.
We have all morning to do whatever we want. Maybe we’ll drive into Reykjavik to get some lunch? Maybe we’ll find another volcano to hike?
We just need to be at the airport for 12:00 to drop off the car and fly back to London…
IN BUSINESS CLASS BAYBEEEEEEEEEE

So that’s how we’ll spend your birthday. 3 nights in Iceland chasing the northern lights.
I hope we find them.
And I hope you love them.
But it’ll never be as much as I love you.
Iyi dogdun askim.
